Quick Baby Flapjack

Just 5 minutes prep is all you need to make these yummy little soft bake oaty flapjacks suitable for babies and adults alike, from the age of 6 months!

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana mashed
  • Heaped tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 160g of rolled porridge oats*
  • 160ml of whole milk (cows or plant based)
  • Handful of raisins (optional)
  • Small handful of flaked almonds (optional)
  • Little knob of butter or oil for greasing the baking tin

Method:

Mash the banana in a large bowl, then stir in the vanilla and cinnamon. Add the oats, milk and raisins and stir well. Spoon into a small greased oven tray, small enough so the mixture is around an inch thick when levelled out.

Double the quantities if you don’t own a small tray. Ensure the mixture is evenly spread then top with a scatter of flaked almonds if you wish.

Bake at 180c/380f fan oven for 15-20 minutes till firm to the touch. Allow to sit for a minute before cutting into portions in the tin, then removing with a fish slice.

Suitable from 6 months as they’re very soft. If serving to babies under 8 months you can roughly chop the raisins and use chopped nuts so it’s easier for them to eat.

Will keep in an airtight container for 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
