Avo Cheese Toastie

Delicious creamy avocado packed full of vitamin C and healthy fats, paired with oozy melty cheese! Dreamy!

Ingredients:

  • 1 small avocado
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • Black pepper
  • 30g of cheddar cheese sliced (*can sub for a good melting vegan cheese)
  • 2 slices of bread (*gluten free alternative)
  • Soft unsalted butter or dairy free spread

Method:

Remove the flesh from the avocado and add to a bowl along with the lemon juice and a good grinding of black pepper, then mash with a fork.

Spread the mixture over a slice of bread, top with the cheese and the second piece of bread.

Spread soft butter edge to edge on the top side of the bread, then pop the sandwich onto a medium heat griddle pan, buttered side down. Spread butter to the other side of the bread and cook for a couple of minutes over a medium heat before flipping and cooking through till crispy and golden on the outside but melty on the inside.

Suitable from 6 months – cut into strips so they are easy for baby to hold. Best cooked and served fresh and warm.
